Greetings! Welcome to Communiqué...

In this issue, we highlight poetry--in print and through spoken word. We are proud to offer three new, unpublished poems by Luci Shaw, writer-in-residence at Regent College in Vancouver. We also feature poetry by Greg Dyer and RealAudio spoken word poetry by John Paul Davis.

Also in this issue, Communiqué Editor Barry Brake gives a solid, yet humorous explanation of the term "Postmodernism," the curious label often connected with elements of today's popular culture.

Our April 21 SPECIAL EDITION adds the rich photography of Terry Vine. These images are part of a collection of work shot by the photographer during Semana Santa, the two weeks leading up to Easter, in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Terry captured the people and places around the city. In May 1999, the collection was featured at the Honeysuckle Gallery in Fayetteville, Texas. The artist was pleased to present the images to Communiqué readers.

Film enthusiasts will want to peruse the thoughtful reviews of Bringing Out the Dead, Fight Club, and The Straight Story. Music lovers can get the reviews on the latest CDs from Moby, Over the Rhine, and The Innocence Mission. Enjoy this issue, and remember we welcome your feedback...
