Let every man in mankind's frailty Besides being complicated, reality, in my experience,
is usually odd. Show me a man who lives alone and has a perpetually clean
kitchen, and 8 times out of 9 I'll show you a man with detestable spiritual
qualities. The simplification of anything is always sensational. Take eloquence and wring its neck. I call architecture frozen music. If my films don't show a profit, I know I'm doing something
right. Less is more. Less is more. But more is even more. It is appallingly obvious that our technology exceeds
our humanity. It seemed that when he kissed me he began to think that
perhaps he could get away with a little more, that I needn't be 'respected'
like this Beatrice Fairfax glad-girl of his imagination. What'd he do?
Not much. I pushed him off a sixteen-foot embankment before he was well
started. Education is a crutch with which the foolish attack the
wise to prove that they are not idiots. There are people in the world so hungry that God cannot
appear to them except in the form of bread. Ninety-nine percent of everything that goes on in most
Christian churches has nothing whatsoever to do with the actual religion.
Intelligent people all notice this sooner or later, and they conclude
that one hundred percent is bulls***, which is why atheism is connected
with being intelligent in people's minds. The church sucks... and a minister isn't going to be
the one to change it. Witness the American Revolution... or damn near any Political
or Scientific Revolution, for that matter. The Chief Renegades are rarely
over... 30.
